How The Frenzal Rhomb came to be

Jay: "I was born in Glasglow in 1972. I was an orphan until I was about 15 until I met Lex and he sort of fathered me. He was my male role model for quite a while.

Lex: I told him how to grow dreads

Jay: Lex was a male prostitute until I met him. Once he got the father figure role happening he gave that away.

Lex: Nat was born in about 1940. He was a baby-boomer. He'll always be a baby boomer. That's the only way he can explain his age and his looks.

Jay: And as for Lindsay - we found him at the pub. Then we all got together and decided to form a band. We decided to call it Frenzal Rhomb because it means nothing.

Lex: Nothing at all.

Lindsay: No story behind it.

Anyway, that was a little bit on an interview that I find quite funny, and I hope you did too. :o)

Frenzal Rhomb are a bloody good and bloody funny punk band that hail from Newtown, a suburb in Sydney, NSW Australia. They are probably well-known because of their visits to the Recovery Studios in Melbourne....The first time they were there, they tried to shave Dylan's head. The second time, they were the House Band, and drew all over Dylan's head in a black marker (too bad it wasn't permanent...hehehehe) and basically kicked his arse! During their third (and probably their last) visit to the Recovery Studios, they covered dave McCormacks (dude from Custard) expensive suit in Custard, if I remember correctly....If you wanna hear some sounds from their second visit, go to the sounds section...

They've even invaded the sporting arena - a racehorse in South Australia with blood lines not dissimilar to the late Phar Lap has been christened "Frenzal Rhomb". Daniel Johns, of silverchair, was threatened with failure by his high school music teacher after he expressed his interest in performing the F.R. song Genius for the class assessment. Jason set his house on fire. Ben's dad has had him committed to institutional life, and Molly Meldrum was heard to remark "yeah. Good band. Like em". The country is getting nervous.

I agree with them when they say that they are "The punkest band on earth"....cos it's the truth...It's members are Jay Whalley (the tall, dreaded one on Vocals), Lindsay McDougall (the one who's nude in the "We're Going Out Tonight" video clip, on Guitar and Vocals), Lex Feltham (the bassist who always smiles who also does vocals) and Gordy Foreman(?) (the new drummer).

Where the Frenzal Rhomb songs come from!

Lindsay: "The Heart"

Lex: "Lindsay's Arse!"

Jay: "I actually write all the songs and lyrics and work out everyone's parts for them around. That's when the real magic happens when they actually duplicate what I have written."

The Webster TV star

Jay: "We're hoping to catch up with Tim Webster (Ten Network sports personality) after the release of our next record because there's a song called "Ballad Of Tim Webster". Hopefully we'll get to meet him.

Lindsay: "Probably in court!"

Lex: "He's got very strage eyelids."

"Next time you watch Sports Tonight have a look. We've got many theories. I reckon he's been out in the sun too much and his eyes have gone a bit funny."
